Things I Love: bringing back gratitude

Remember when I used to do posts every week with a bunch of stuff that I liked in them?

I think I am starting that up again. Everyone needs a good gratitude boost. It’s so easy to focus on the negative and while there are negative things, there are also a lot of positives going on right now. So let’s focus on that shall we?

source

- being down 4 pounds as of today – making changes in my eating habits for the better – starting training for a 5k – using Nike+ and seeing that I already ran nearly 9 miles in two weeks – starting training with kettle bells – performing a clean and snatch – sticking with running for two weeks straight -

- going berry picking – fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries – going to Sauvie Island – having a beach day – picnics – late night tacos – starting a new book – having lazy days -

Sauvie Island Beach

- making dinner – trying new recipes – the salmon I made for dinner – the smoothie I have every morning – (it has spirulina, wheat grass, and spinach in it!) – (and it tastes like chocolate peanut butter goodness!) – this chili powder spice mix I bought – Mountain Rose Herbs – my recent order there -

- orange toe nail polish – sandal weather – less rain than usual – (even if there is a lack of sun) – this necklace – my new face wash regime – (even if it’s not perfect, yet) – wearing my hair the way it naturally falls – the minimal amount of makeup I’ve been wearing -

Pansy!

It’s been a good start to summer. This is the start of great adventures.

I definitely think being grateful for what we do currently have makes us happier people in general. Congrats on the weight loss and how’s about sharing that smoothie recipe?!

Thank you for leaving out the part about my massive sunburn, which I was definitely not grateful for.

At least yours went away pretty fast. Glad both our sunburns are done with! Hopefully we can avoid them this weekend.
