You perhaps heard rumors I’m sure
Obscene disguise despite his new look
I’m meeting him at London’s Dorchester Hotel tonight
If you wanna take advantage of him then you know where to go
As long as you bring your bible you’re secure
–The Sounds, Dorchester Hotel
Everyone seems to do these inane about pages. Like in five hundred words or less you can learn everything you need to know about a person. I suppose if I just put up my name and age and location like every other little girl you could learn essentially who I was and where I was located. I suppose if I told you my favorite movie is The Labyrinth and my favorite band is The Sounds and that my favorite color is blue, you could learn a little of my personality.
But does that tell you that a certain phrase can make me cry uncontrollably? Does that tell you that certain songs can bring a smile to my lips as soon as I hear those opening notes? Does that even tell you that I have a slight obsession with shopping and I love cream cheese frosting?
No. It doesn’t. You wouldn’t know all of that if I didn’t tell you.
And I will tell you, bit by bit, as time goes by. With each post you learn something new about me, even if it’s not stated directly in the words.
Each post is essentially a story of who I am that day. Am I the girl who shares a snippet of dialogue or the girl who can’t quite find the words to talk about something eating away at her, or am I just the girl who throws up her blissful happiness all over the screen?
I suppose you will just have to read and figure that one out yourself.
